Unusual, friendly local with the public areas surrounding a central bar. Some of the furnishings look as if they might have been there since the building - itself clearly very old- was first constructed. Some of the seating allegedly came from the Minster. Lots of atmosphere: and very fresh crisps…

The Tiger has something “ON” most days and nights apart from excellent food and the usual quiz and darts there is also Folk Music, including Northumbriam Pipes, Jazz and Irish Music.

Excellent steak! with mushrooms and blue sliton sauce on top and 8oz rump well done please not burnt cooked in middle with salad instead of chips and creamy ranch please and mustard and horshradis sauceand a pint of fosters I would reccomend! Thatis my usual. And a pint of Fosters and a drink for the barmaid please Sir. I would like to make a reservation 7pm Mon 16th Feb 2oo9 please Sir. My usual! Excellent last year as always sorry for so late for the review! Been away out of the country.. USA…. for 6 yrs.
